Barcelona’s attempt to replace Luis Suarez with Valencia striker Rodrigo has hit a roadblock as they demand Nelson Semedo’s inclusion in a swap deal
Barcelona have been searching rigorously for a new striker who could aid the struggling squad until the eventual return of Luis Suarez from his 4 months injury. Quique Setien‘s eleven have improved in terms of keeping the possession but are not able to convert this progress into scoring goals.

One of the main reasons for this is the lack of a proper no. 9 and the Barca board have recognized this issue, and are planning to sign an immediate solution. With many names being linked with a move to the Nou Camp, Clubs around the world are using the Catalan’s desperation to their advantage by making the potential deals really profitable for themselves.
Valencia’s Rodrigo is one of those names on the table as confirmed by Club President Josep Maria Bartomeu. Sport have now linked Borussia Dortmund striker, Paco Alcacer, with a return to his former club, Valencia. This brings Rodrigo one step closer to Blaugrana but the Spanish club are now demanding Semedo to be included in the striker’s deal.
🔘 Rodrigo: Negociación abierta. Mendes trata de convencer al Barça para que Semedo entre en la operación. Confían en hacerlo.
🔘 Paco Alcácer: Como hoy avanzabamos a primera hora. Todo cerrado con el jugador y muy avanzado con Dortmund.

Semedo has struggled to find his place under the new manager, Quique Setien, having already been ruled out by the previous coach, Ernesto Valverde. His move away from Camp Nou was planned for the summer transfer window but with Barca looking to sign a replacement striker, things may change quickly for the Portuguese international.
